Hojicha

Today,I brewed Hojicha/焙じ茶.
I was firing the tee tree stems with Houroku/ほうろく.
The roasted tea leaves.
The smell is so good.

  1. This is very interesting. Is that little pan made of thick clay? Was it made for roasting tea?

    Today I am experimenting with roasting an oolong for the first time. I'll let you know how it works out. It is already smelling lovely.

    The pan is unglazed pottery and usesd to roast tea.
    I read Brett's article.
    I saw the first time to roast an oolong tea,but it was very intresting.
    I will try roast an oolong!
