The hedge tea trees/ 畦畔茶

 Old days,  about from 1800 to 1965, in Tama, Tokyo,
in each household, growing tea trees and making sencha tea.
I heard that there is a place where saved the original landscape of the past.Then I went to see the hedge tea trees/ 畦畔茶.
This pict's tea tree was used as the hedge.
 
 The house is located in the here from 600 years ago.
This pict is fields of rice.
 
This tea trees were used as a separator of fields.
In the fieldChinese cabbages were planted.
And citrus trees, sudachi, lemon, tangerine, and kabosu.
 
These trees separated the field and the  walkway.

 
 
These trees separated the field and the warehouse.
In Spring, People harvested tea leaves.
And the tea leaves were steamed.
This process was called "kill green leaves/ 青葉殺し"
Then they knead steamed leaves at Hoiro/ ホイロ.
The harvested tea leaves were not made tea.
The leaves were stored glory hole underground.

  
 There were some silkies/ 烏骨鶏.

Nodate

I went to Oome/青梅,Tokyo to have Nodate.


I felt the changing colors of autumn leaves.
This matcha was made by Kuma-en,Yame,Fukuoka.

Oolong tea

I had Donding Oolong Tea,that made by Mr.Ryu/劉 in Nan-tou sikatanikyou svg./南投縣鹿谷郷.


I bought at Koume-cha-sou/小梅茶荘 in Ningyou town,Tokyo.


This leaves were winter tea leaves in 2011.
It was  light yellow and so sweet.

Matcha

It was warm today.
In Tokyo,the cherry blossoms were in bloom at once.
I picked up flowers.
This matcha was made by Ippodo in Kyoto.

I went to have tea to the cafe ,Tokyo scone.
Drinking tea unlimited.
The first Nilgiri,Tiger Hill Estate ,
Keemun Da Bie,
Uva from Aislaby tea estate,at 2010,
Uva from Aislaby tea estate 2011,
Dimbula from Talawakele tea estate 2011 ,
Assam Borsapori tea estate, second flush 2011 with milk,
and Nilgiri,Tiger Hill Estate with milk.
Today, I had seven cups of tea.

The Restaurant, IVY PLACE

I went to have a cup of tea to the restaurant,IVY PLACE at Daikanyama,Tokyo.
This Wakocha was called Beniogata from Kagoshima.
The taste like Darjeeling tea.

Sencha

I went to the cafe Mube/むべ at Itsukaichi/五日市,Tokyo.
I had a cup of sencha with Yokan/羊羹.
Yokan is a thick jellied sweet made of azuki bean paste, kanten and sugar.
The Cafe was surrounded by mountains.
The entry gate.
Relaxed atmosphere.
I dropped near the temple.
Making dried radish.
Kiriboshi Daikon/切り干し大根 ,dried  radish.

Pu'er tea

I had puer tea for making puer egg.
This tea was very good.
I had to the sixth tea.
This leaves were Yunnan Puer that bought by Koume-Chasou.

I went to have tea to "Tokyo scone" at Oshiage,Tokyo.
The day was unlimited drinks tea,one price .
The first ,Keemun Da Bie.
And Assam C.T.C from Borsapori tea estate, second flush 2011,
Assam from Amgoorie tea estate the second flush 2011,
Uva from Aislaby tea estate,at 2010,
milk tea with Dimbula brend 2011,
and milk tea with Assam C.T.C from Borsapori T.E.,S.E. 2011.
Today,I had six cups of tea !
This leaves Assam C.T.C from Borsapori tea estate.
It was beautiful leaves.

Bean-Scattering Festival


February 3 is Setsubun/節分,Bean-Scattering Festival.
I went to Ningyo town/人形町 for touring of the seven shrines.
This shrine is Chanoki Shrine/ 茶の木神社 that celebrate Hotei-son.
Hotei is worshiped as a god of luck, matchmaking, and blessing with children.
People eat the same number of beans as their age to wish for good health.
People scatter beans to drive away evil and bring in good luck.
This beans of Koami Shrine.
With Tamaryoku-cha/玉緑茶.
Tamaryoku-cha is Klin-dried tea.
This tea is made by Mr,Ota at Ureshino,Saga.
The leaves are native species.
Fine klin-dried tea is rare.

I went to have tea to "Tokyo scone" again at Oshiage,Tokyo.
The day was unlimited drinks tea,one price .
The first ,Kandy at 2011.
And Uva from Aislaby tea estate,at 2010 ,
Dimbula from Talawakele tea estate 2011 ,
Assam from Amgoorie tea estate the second flush 2011,
Uva from Aislaby tea estate 2011,
and Assam milk tea.
Very happy !

I went to have tea to Tokyo scone at Oshiage,Tokyo.
This shop's scones were very good.
And the day was unlimited drinks tea,one price !!
The first ,Uva by Aislaby tea estate,at 2011.
The menthol was so elegant.
In order to soften the taste,it was brewed in Mashiko / 益子 Cup.
 And I had darjeeling Sungma tea estate the second flush 2011,Nuwara Eliya 2011 , Kandy with ginger ,Assam Borsapori tea estate the second flush 2011....
 and Assam milk tea.
Very happy !

Cafe Bunpuku /分福

I went to the cafe Bunpuku at Koenji/高円寺,Tokyo.
This cafe looked like a normal cafe.
But, Japanese tea menu is great !!
I had sencha of Honyama,Shizuoka.
Others teas,Hoshimno tea farm at Yame and Kunitomo tea farm at Kouchi.
They are special tea farm in Japan.

And I took a side trip to the cafe Nanatumori/七つ森.
It is been a while since.

Darjeeling tea

This darjeeling was a gift by my friend.
It was by Lopchu at Tamagawa gakuen,Tokyo.
Darjeeling second flash,golden orange pekor
The taste was deep.

Matcha

I went to have a cup of Matcha to Uogashi Meicha/うおがし銘茶 at Tukizi/築地,Tokyo.
The taste is bitter and sweet.
and beautiful freen.

The total luna eclipse from Tokyo

Tonight, it will be a total eclipse of the moon.
At 21:16  from Tokyo,Japan
At 22:07
The moon began to  lack.
At 22:35
At 23:01
The moon turned back.
At 0:49
At 1:02
At 1:24
At 1:34
I did not take the red moon because I could not endure the ength of an exposure time.
This luna eclipse was very beautiful.
At shinjuku, Everyone was looking up.
